CHRISTMAS FLOWERS

I'm wearing birght red and gold Christmas flowers in my hair that I got from Rascal. Aren't they just perfect for the season?

The 'do is a variation and slightly more difficult version of the basic chignon I do with a roll; rolling my hair in pin-curls, fastening them standing, not flat. I normally lay them a little more sideways so that the swirl will show, but this time they are pretty much just rolled straight upwards and fastened. You can make the hair do the other way around too, rolling the curls downwards. That's a fun making-long-hair-short look. But more on that some other time :)

Pretty and very holiday. I just found your blog and started from the beginning of the posts to catch up. I was wondering how you take your photos. I would like to add more of that to mine. Does someone take them or do you use a self timer thing? Nice work anyway.

Your hairdo is very beautiful! I wish I could do them as well. Lovely photos.

Joanie : thank you! I take some of the photos myself using a tripod for the camera and the self timer, or then I have someone else take them for me, it really depends from day to day :)

Im so jealous of your styling creativity. I can do lots of different styles, sure, but I can't CREATE them...almost always have to see something first. :( That said, I have a whole folder on my computer called 'personal challenges' and this is joining the photos I have there. Some of your other styles are also there. :)

Wow you always manage to get your styles so NEAT! I wonder how. Probably the same frustrating answer to everything - practice makes perfect!

Hi - I am a new reader of your blog and I just wanted to say your style is amazing! I have been really inspired by vintage looks lately and would love to incorporate them into my wardrobe more. Also I love all your hair tutorials. I have been a bit bored with my hair lately so will definately be using some of your tutorials in the future. I just wanted to say thank you for having this blog and keep up the great blogging!

Joanie (your first comment here on this post) sent me over here and I've flicked through so quickly and just love your blog!

You must get a lot of compliments because you're so cute to boot! I'm a platinum blonde too, so am loving all the colours you wear! I'm scared of clashing!

Thanks for another back of head shot. :)

I find the separate rolls easier to manage than one roll on a rat because my hair is nearly hiplength.

I usually need husband's help to start a single roll on a rat because I can't reach all the way down to the ends of my hair, but I do the smaller rolls differently.

Wow, I'm a fairly new reader of your blog, and I wanted to say how amazingly inspired I am by your ability to look perfect seemingly every day! I'm especially impressed by your polished-looking vintage-inspired hair. I had a go last night, but I'm not getting it right yet. I'm worried my hair might be a little too long, but I'm still trying. Thanks for all your inspiring photographs and posts.
